Dr. Rios is an outstanding member of his community and family man, in addition to being a highly respected and credentialed surgeon. Dr. Rios is a board member of the McAllen Boys and Girls Club and an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America Troop 68. McAllen and Brownsville recognize Dr. Rios as their “favorite plastic surgeon”, and he has received the McAllen Chamber of Commerce Best Small Business Award.

Dr. Rios graduated valedictorian of his high school, received his undergraduate schooling in biology at Harvard University and earned his MD at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. Dr. Rios then went on to complete a successful residency at UC Davis and a hand surgery fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Rios was the Chief Resident of Surgery at UC Davis, and then successfully moved up from Resident Plastic Surgeon to Chief Resident Plastic Surgeon at Tulane University.

Dr. Rios is board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He is active in plastic surgery research and has made presentations at the national meetings of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Rios plays the piano and classical guitar. He’s an avid jogger and reader. And he loves dogs.
